Save Time and Money with Precision Reporting, APPS

inside the cab looking out at the field with precision ag technology

If you haven’t tried using your precision farming technology for acreage and production reporting, you’re missing out on saving time and money.

The numbers below are actual customer numbers showing fewer acres planted than were on file with the Farm Service Agency (FSA). When you’re planting fewer acres than you thought, that means premium savings. Gradually, this can also be a factor that increases your Actual Production History (APH) slightly. In farming today, every little bit helps.

Another way to streamline acreage and production reporting is to use the app provided by the Approved Insurance Provider (AIP). Tyler Leighton is a busy guy who leads our insurance business and is also a farmer.

“The time flexibility that using an app for crop insurance provides is a game changer. It allows me to take this information, enter it in on my time, when it works for me."

“The time flexibility that using an app for crop insurance provides is a game changer. It allows me to take this information, enter it in on my time, when it works for me. I don’t have to sync up with anybody else’s schedule. I just had a great experience. And it doesn’t diminish my experience with my agent. I would say it’s augmented that. It’s made it so that we have more value-added conversation. We spend our time together going through the importance of how my policy works, how it can protect our operation. And we’ve started to spend less time on the minutia of filling out paperwork. To me that’s one of the biggest benefits. I’m getting more value from my agent and yet I’m also able to get my paperwork side of the crop insurance business done quicker, faster and easier for me.”

In addition to saving money, there’s the time savings. Here’s the experience of another farmer, Riley Stubbendeck:

“It made my life a little easier. We plant the acres, and I think we’ve saved money on our insurance because they know exactly what we planted vs. going off FSA maps. Sometimes those aren’t the most accurate things. When it came time to get those final yields, my insurance officer was able to pull it from the combine. We compared notes. This made it a lot simpler deal. I like the fact that it kind of keeps things cut and dry with this is what I came up with, this is what the combine came up with and it should be right.”
