Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) awarded $297,535 in Working Here Fund grants in the third quarter of 2023. This brings the amount awarded through our Working Here Fund grants to more than $7 million since 2013.
The 72 nonprofit organizations listed below received grants to support agriculture and rural communities with projects that address one of the following areas: agricultural education, hunger and nutrition, or rural disaster assistance and essential services.
These projects include greenhouses, rescue equipment, FFA support, food pantries, agriculture education materials and many others. Several grants in Iowa will help fund chick hatching kits for classrooms. A Nebraska grant will help expand ag education at the Lincoln Children’s Museum. And a South Dakota grant will help ensure students in need have access to food over the weekend.
We recently refreshed our grant program to offer more financial support, sized to meet the needs of small and large projects. Nonprofit organizations in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming whose projects align with the mission of our grant program can now apply for up to $5,000 each quarter. Twice a year, we are awarding grants of up to $15,000 and up to $25,000.
FCSAmerica is accepting grant applications for the fourth quarter of 2023 through December 31. To learn about the requirements and apply online, visit the Working Here Fund grants page.
