OMAHA, NEBRASKA - Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) stockholders re-elected two agricultural producers to the financial cooperative’s Board of Directors. Each will serve a four-year term, beginning April 1, 2021.
Nick Hunt of Atlantic, Iowa, is president of Hunt Bros. Inc., a family farm corporation, and Clan Farms Inc., a beef cattle feedlot. He is manager and partner in Hunt Land, L.C., a family agriculture land holding company, and a partner in Hunt Investment, L.C., a holding company for family investments in stocks and bonds, and Horizons Partnership, a family agricultural business. He sits on the Atlantic School Board, the Cattle Fax Board and the Cass County Hospital Foundation Board. Hunt has served on the FCSAmerica Board since January 1, 2007.
Jeff Burg of Wessington Springs, South Dakota, serves as president and owns a diversified grain and livestock farm with his brother, raising corn, soybeans, small grains and alfalfa and fall calving beef cows. They also own and operate a DENR-permitted feedlot. Burg is the District 7 director for the South Dakota Corn Growers Association and the organization’s delegate to the U.S. Meat Export Federation. He also serves as chairman of the Wessington Springs Township. Burg was appointed to fill a vacancy on the FCSAmerica Board effective May 1, 2019 and elected by stockholders to a four-year term beginning April 1.
FCSAmerica is governed by a Board of Directors that reflects the diversity of agriculture in the Association’s territory of Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming. The Board consists of twelve Directors elected by customer-owners, as well three Directors appointed by the Board to provide additional perspectives.
